The Wonders of the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship

By George Battles

As with everything ‘Disney’, their line of cruise ships are all top notch and having fun is one of the major priorities on the list of things to do. The Disney Wonder cruise ship is one of the jewels in their fleet of three and it’s awesome. It makes regular trips to ports of call in the Bahamas, the Mexican Riviera and Alaska. Of all the cruise ships out there, the Wonder may make the biggest impression. Its sophisticated design makes it instantly recognized wherever it travels.

The Disney ships all contain a mix of grand elegance combined with a large dose of fun and entertainment. These cruise liners were all built specifically with families in mind and the kids love going on these trips. And Disney wrote the book on kids and fun, so trust that they’ve laid it all out with the special magic that makes them who they are. On the Disney Wonder, you have lots of options as to the length of your voyage. There’s a two-day getaway that’s perfect for those who don’t have a lot of time on their hands. It’s also a good way to ‘try it out’ and see how you feel about this kind of floating vacation. Not everybody is crazy about being on a boat for any length of time so a short trip to find out how you like it might be a good idea.

It also offers 3,4 and 5-night cruises to the Bahamas and a 6-night voyage from Los Angeles, California to Vancouver, Canada. This is a good one. Several years ago my parents took the 7-day escape to Alaska and they’re still talking about it! They said it was some of the most gorgeous scenery they had ever seen in their lives (and they do a lot of traveling). They’re talking about doing it again. There’s a 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise and also an 8-day Holiday Mexican trip, which sails during the Christmas season. It takes you and your family into the heart of the Mexican Riviera with ports of call that include Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas and Manzanillo. It also includes three unforgettable and fun-filled days at sea. This makes for a great family holiday vacation.

The big daddy in the cruise itinerary is the 15-night Panama Canal Westbound Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder. This embarks at Port Canaveral, Florida and goes through the Canal to its final destination in Los Angeles. Ports of call include 4 towns on the Mexican Riviera plus Castaway Cay and Aruba. This voyage includes a total of seven days on the open seas. The Disney Wonder cruise ship is always sailing somewhere and it’s waiting for you to come along. It’s not too expensive and well worth every penny it does cost. Check out the web site.
